About The Almost New Book Shop

We started The Almost New Book Shop because we couldn't bear to see good books go to waste. As libraries across the country closed their doors, thousands of well-loved volumes were ending up in landfill — and that felt wrong. Every book deserves another reader. Based in Chichester on the beautiful South Coast, we rescue, curate, and rehome books that still have plenty of life left in them. Whether you're after a gripping novel, a fascinating non-fiction read, or something to spark a child's imagination, you'll find it here — at a price that makes building your home library a pleasure. If you're an avid reader who believes great books shouldn't be thrown away, you're in exactly the right place.
